Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I use Web2Fig on Chrome internal pages?
Google Chrome restricts extensions from running content scripts on internal browser pages such as
chrome://, chrome-extension://, the Chrome Web Store, or system settings for security reasons. Please open a normal HTTP/HTTPS website to use Web2Fig.
Why are some cross-origin images or dynamic visuals not reproduced?
Some websites restrict cross-origin image requests using strict CORS headers, canvas tainting, or DRM protection. Web2Fig resolves all public images, inline SVGs, and computed styles exposed to the browser.
Can I capture a local HTML file from my computer?
Yes! Open
chrome://extensions, click Details on Web2Fig, and toggle on "Allow access to file URLs". Afterwards, you can capture local file:// HTML documents.
Does Web2Fig store or send my page data anywhere?
No. Web2Fig runs 100% locally in your browser tab. Captured DOM nodes and styles are compiled directly into system memory to generate the clipboard payload, then discarded. Web2Fig has zero telemetry, no accounts, and zero cloud servers.
What should I include in a bug report?
Please include the public page URL (if safe to share), element description, expected vs actual output in Figma, your Chrome version, and any console error messages. Do not attach private personal information.
